Deleting contacts folders in address book

B

Bob G.

I commute every few months between 2 computers, one with Outlook 07 and one
with Outlook 03. At first I tried simply exporting my contacts so I would
have all my contacts from the 07 version when I went to the computer with
the 03 every 2-3 months.

Then I decided to simply take my entire outlook.pst file and work from it
when I change computers.

However, I now have when I open my address book several of the old contacts
files showing in the "show names from the" dialogue box.

How do I get rid of them? I can sync up my contacts to the address book OK,
but I can't get rid of these old contact files from that window.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using XP.

Remove old or outdated references to Contacts Folders here:
Outlook 2002/2003:
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >
Outlook 2007:
Go to Tools > Account Settings > Address Book Tab > Outlook Address Book >
Change...

Thanks, I tried that. Once I hit change I deleted all the contacts folders
there except the one I want to use, but they still appear in the "show names
from" dialogue box in the Address book. I also closed and re-opened Outlook
and re-booted, but they remain.

No they don't. Not for anyone else. Sure you exited Outlook completely?

I thought I had, but when I went to reboot, Windows gave me one of those
messages about a task not ending; it was Outlook. After rebooting, they are
gone. Thanks.
