Win XP Home - AMD Athalon-M 2800+ w/512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD
About a month ago my system crashed, (I tried to run OE and WinDVD @ the
same time and POOF!). When it booted back up I had no page file
(C:\Pagefile.sys did not exist anymore). After using different options, I
went into my registry and reset my pagefile to a larger size and set it to
C:\Pagefile2.sys. However, during this time, I never got back the free space
that should have been associated w/my old pagefile being removed.
Today I installed Directory Snoop 5, and when I ran it for the 1st time, I
saw my old pagefile sitting in C: as a regular file, but when I went to go
delete it, I was told that it was a system file and it couldn't delete system
files.
What I would like to know, is there a third party program that I can startup
before XP and use it to delete this old pagefile from my system?
