Deleting a Discussion Web

Way back when, when I was futzing with FP 2003, I created a discussion web
as part of a site. Later, I installed phpbb and prefer that. I guess I
deleted some of the discussion web, but not all of it.

Now when I try to delete the directory, I receive the following:
Cannot delete "disc1_cfrm.htm"

That file is present, but I suppose I must have deleted something else long
ago that is blocking the removal of the remains of the directory.

Does anyone have an idea of how I can clean this up?

I appreciate the assistance,
Fro.

If it's a subweb open the subweb and right click it to delete it

That's just it, I am not permitted to delete it. It does not show as a
sub-web, although I believe it was at one time.

Are you opening the DW subweb online in FP

PS
Before you open FP
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

Try it while online with the server. Open the http://www.yourweb.com with FP, see if the subweb appears there - you may have at one time deleted it locally but not off the server? (just a thought)

I appreciate the help. It is not a temp file issue. I have multiple boxes
that have failed to delete this. Attempting to delete the files directly
from the server does not work either. It appears the directory is locked
down. As I said previously, I may have deleted a few files by hand at one
point. The rest of the directory now will not delete.

The directory does not show up as a sub-web now. There are files in it.
Those files cannot be deleted.

The temp files (especially web cache *.web) contain FP meta data that may be corrupt, causing your problem
If it is in an online server contact the host to check permissions, or check the permissions and server health if it is your server
Since you are using a 3rd party DW, that should be in a FP subweb (not opened by FP) so you can set unique permissions on it w/ a
3rd party FTP program, or it will corrupt the FP SE of the root web
- have you tried to delete the old files/folders using a 3rd party FTP

Yes, and I have been denied doing so. It is a bugger of a thing. With it
only being a personal site, I can deal with it. But I find it annoying that
I can be locked out of my own files like this.

Then contact your host to purge the site, reset permissions & republish it
