deleting a block of words

Whenever I highlight a word or several words, or a sentence in Word, and I
push the delete button, Word asks me (below in the Status Bar) Delete Block?
and I have to answer yes, or no. HOW do I stop it from doing this?
 
In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two
boxes for WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
