Hiya,

I have a windows 98 install, and a windows XP install.
I first installed windows 98, then XP creating a multi-boot system. Now I am
trying to delete the windows 98 system, but when XP loads up I get the blue
screen of death. Saying there's an error in win32 and what have you.

I luckily have a copy of the hard drive as back-up, so can try over and over
again to get rid of the 98 partition - but I seem to always get the same
result.
Can anyone here help me at all?

Thanks

Are both operating systems on the same hard drive?
What files are you deleting?

I have two separate partitions, 98 on C:\, and XP on K:\ (long story).

Now the drive letters don't change at all, but XP seems totally dependant on
the C:\ drive even if K:\ is set as active. XP boots fine until I delete the
C:\ partition and then falls over and gives me the BSOD.

Thanks for at least giving me help, but I may re-install XP, as it was
getting a bit sluggish anyway - and some settings were annoying me and the
system wasn't 100% stable.

Thanks anyway!

I recently upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I purchased additional
memory, but I still need to clear some things off the C drive. Can I delete
the Windows 98 files from the C drive or will that cause a problem?

Thanks for the help,

RHR
