Deletes Other Programs

I installed the Beta Program and ran it yesterday. It
completely deleted my address book which is an old
program by AVEO, called Megaphone. I reinstalled the
address book program and it retrieved part of the info in
the address book but no changes that had been made in
approximately the past 30 days.

I ran the spyware again today to watch it closely and it
is removing the address book program in conjunction with
spyware called HelpExpress.

Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyonehave any
ideas as to how to retrieve my address book info?

Judy,

It only removes what you allow it to remove. Mark the items that are
being deleted as Always Ignore from the drop down window.

This is what is known as a false positive, and as you've found out, it is a
Bad Thing.

If you chose to delete, rather than quarantine, I know of no way to get the
files back, except to seek out a data recovery program such as those used to
recover from disk failures.

These cost money, but I believe several have a trial mode in which they show
what they are able to recover allowing you to decide if the $ are worth it
to you.
