Deleted Programs Still Appear in my directory

I have two programs which when removed through Add and
Remove Programs looks like it deletes them. When I go
into my directory they are still there, but when I try to
delete them from there it says access is denied. What can
I do to remove these from my directory. Any help is
appreciated.
