deleted outlook items appear with strikeover in only one account

Using Outlook 2002, I have two aol accounts set up. Both are IMAP. In the
default account, deleting an items ,, DELETES it. In second account
configured in the exact same way, deleting an item results in a strikeover.

I suspect that in the one folder where the message is no longer displayed
that you have a different view setting than in the one that shows the
overstrike. In the one where thngs work as you think they should, click
View>Arrange By>Current View and see if "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion"
is checked. If so, that's why the messages appear to be deleted. They're
really not, but you have the view filter them out. In the other folder you
don't have that view set.
