deleted items folder - empty

D

DB

I've done huge clean up of my email as it was getting very large to back up.

I see that even when my deleted items folder is empty the deleted items idx
folder is over 300 megs.

How do I really empty it? can I just delete it from the identities folder or
will that cause me issues when I restart.

cheers

Open the "Delete File." Highlight the first item that shows in that group
then click on "Delete All"

Click on "Deleted Items"
When the list shows, highlight one of the items.
Click on "Edit"
Click on "Select All"; the entire list will become highlighter.
Click on the X; delete
When the box shows that asks if you are sure you want to permanently delete
the selected files, click yes.

Hi DB

The Deleted Items.dbx file can be removed - to the Recycle Bin - from the identities folder while OE is closed. When you restart OE a new Deleted Items folder will be created.

thanks Hound Dog, but I'd done that to empty it, yet in the outlook express
folder it was still over 300 megs.

Hi DB

Glad your problem is sorted - 75Kb is the default size of a newly created Deleted Items.dbx file.
