Deleted Items automatically being deleted

I have a user that once he deletes an item it will store in his deleted items
folder for 6 days and then it automatically deletes. He is the only user I
know that is having this problem on the exchange server. I have made sure
his archive doesn't delete items after he archives. Any help would be
wonderful. Thanks.

Have you checked the Deleted Items archive settings? Right-click Deleted
Items and choose Properties. Select the AutoArchive tab and look.

Is he using the "Last Seven Days" view in the Deleted Items folder, perhaps?

Sorry to be so late in getting back on this. Life as an IT. He does not
have "View Last Seven Days" check so he should be seeing them all. I
currently have it set up to archive every 5 days so nothing deletes out
before the 7 days are up. I am thinking there is a setting somewhere that
deletes items out after a specific time but I can not find it anywhere.
Thanks so far for the help.

OK. so what view is he using? Has he tried resetting the view to its
defaults?

I just checked his views. Current view is Messages. I also tried resetting
the views as well to see if that fixes the problem. Am I missing a setting
somewhere that he could of changed?

Unless it's a view hiding the messages (and Advanced FInd should be able to
find them) or he has some add-in (like sync software) or autoarchive
deleting them, I don't know what else to suggest.

We do use a sync software, but it is just the microsoft window's sync
software that comes with xp buisness. i never thought of trying an advanced
find on the deleted e-mail. I will also see what I can do with a seperate PC
with his account to see if I can duplicate his effect.
