Deleted files/ Recycle Bin/ Folder properties

I'm connected to a server at work and have a specific "site" folder through
that server -- my problem is that when I delete a file from one of those
folders, I noticed that they do not go to the Recycle Bin. They pretty much
go into "space", because I can't seem to find them again, besides in my
recent folder, though I can't access it of course b/c it's been deleted! Am I
able to change some sort of option thing & make it allow for any deleted
files to go straight to the Recycle Bin? Because, what if I accidentally
deleted a document that's REALLY important.. how am I to retrieve it?!

*This just happened to me, but it wasn't a REALLY REALLY important doc & I
was able to retype it, because it was a standard form that needed some
insertions.

I don't know how it works with a server, but, on your computer ... right
click on the recycle bin icon and click on properties. Under the global tab
there is a selection box that says "do not move files to the recycle Bin,
remove files immediately when deleted" ... If this box is checked, uncheck
it ... that should fix your problem. If it is already unchecked, I'd ask
about the properties on the server.

Is there any way of retreiving the files that have already been deleted?
