deleted files not in recycle bin

I accidently delted some pictures I had. When I went to retrieve from the
Recycle Bin nothing is there. I have delted a lot lately and cannot figure
this out.

I also did a disc cleanup and said said I had a lot in my recycle bin, but
when I go to it nothing is there.

Can anyone help me explain this? I have done a search and everything.. but
cant find. My settings are set not to permanently delete and i have enough
storage space.

I assume by your last statement that the option in the Recycle Bin
properties which says "Do not move files to the recycle bin etc." is
NOT ticked?

The recycler folder can become corrupted and cause the behaviour you
describe.
