First try a System Restore:

If that fails to produce positive results, STOP using the PC if you want any chance
of recovering the folder/files. The more you use the PC the more chance the space
the folder/files were allocated in will be overwritten. There are a few utilities
which run from a floppy disk or a separate drive/partition that you could use to
attempt to recover the folder files.
The trial version of Recover 4 All has a limit on recoverable files of 10KB, yet it
will list all possible recoverable files.

Others may have other suggested utilities. Other than that you would need to take
the PC or HD to a reputable shop that has the proper utilities to recover deleted
folders/files, which can be costly.
