deleted emails in outlook 2007 return back in the inbox

A user deletes emails and then after a week, the deleted emails show back in
the inbox. Help?

Are you sure it is the same thing or are they actually just similar things -
like spam that you get more than once for example?

Secondly, if you are at a Govt installation, is this happening because of
email being restored by someone at the server due to some stuffup?

user swears they are deleted emails from weeks ago. At the time no one is
doing restores because I asked the restore group. Any other ideas. Thanks for

Next thing is to verify the user IS getting those same emails and from
whence they are coming. Eg, they may be from the user's boss sent to them
again or possibly the emails have hit a mailing list equivalent and come
back once more as well as being sent to the original person (the user) or is
it that the user is picking up the same mail all over again after having had
their email resequenced?

The same thing is happening to me and it's very frustrating. Vista
with Office 2K7. Emails that I have SHIFT-DEL return a couple of days
later. There are no mail restores being done on my end either.

Has your account been set to not delete email? I have the same as you and
this doesn't happen for me.
