Delete Users after System Recovery

I did a partial System Recovery on my HP PC- XP because of Spyware I couldn't
get out. PC runs fine but I had to create new users. My Documents and
settings still show the old users before the Recovery with files and
programs. After I take the files I need, can I delete these user names
without affecting anything?
