delete typed words in search box

Hello. I have windows XP. Is there a way to delete the
items (words and letters) that have been typed into the
search boxes of any screen (home page, websites, etc.)?

If you're looking to clear your list of viewed documents,
you can go and right-click the Start button->properties->
make sure the Start Menu tab is selected and click on
Customize. Make sure the Advanced tab is selected and
click Clear List.

In Internet Explorer, you can click on Tools -> Internet
Options -> Make sure the General tab is selected and
Click on Clear History.

While you're there, you can also clear out your Temporary
Internet Files by clicking on Delete Files.

Thank you. I have now tried your advice and that deleted

the websites listed on my address bar. I still need
information concerning deleting words and letters typed on
the "search" box. (Any time I go to a website and type a
letter or word I am searching for, it is saved and remains
there.) I do have internet explorer 6.0.

If I understand what you are asking, you get a text box on a web page and
you then type "W" to begin a search for "William". As soon as you type the
"W" a list of previously entered words that begin with W appear below the
box.. In that case, you can place your cursor over each of those words, do
not click though, and hit the DEL key. That entry will be deleted...
continue to delete entries of concern.

But perhaps I misunderstand, in which case I apologize for jumping in ....
