thank you for your assistance.
In addition to the information Wesley posted, the screensaver files are
protected by Windows File Protection. If you try to rename or delete one of
these files in the System32 folder, it will be automatically replaced by the
copy of the same file that's contained in the dllcache folder. Here is the
workaround.
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache. Locate
the screensaver file that you want to delete. Right click the file and
select Rename (Don't delete the file). Rename the file with a .bak file
extension. (If the file is scrnsaver.scr rename it to scrnsaver.bak.) When
you do this, you willl get a warning message about renaming a files
extension, click Yes on this message. You will get another warning message
about Windows File Protection, click Cancel on the first screen and Yes on
the second screen.
After you have renamed the file in the dllcache folder, navigate to the
System32 folder and repeat this process on the corresponding file in that
folder.
This will effectively remove that screensaver from the list in Display
Properties.
You can determine which screensaver files you want to get rid of by double
clicking the .scr file to view that screensaver.
