delete query

when records are deleted by a delete query are they logically deleted or
physically.
is it possible to undelete them?

"Basically, no. A data recovery company may be able to do so if you haven't
compacted the database, but no guarantees."
 
For all practical purposes, they are deleted and not recoverable. And after
doing a compact and repair even the impractical becomes totally impossible.

There's nothing like a recent backup for times like these.
