I need to be able to search for files and then delete or move them from
within the search results window. I can do that in XP but not Vista.
Vista only allows me to "copy" them to another place. Can anyone help?

ted not sure what you mean but i can copy/paste, cut/paste ,move to folder,
copy to folder, delete view properties and anything else i want

Thanks Marty. In XP I can right click on a folder and a window pops up with
a bunch of options, one of which is "Search". There is no such option in
Vista when right clicking on a folder. In XP "Search" opens up a separate
window with a lot of different search parameters. In Vista all I see is a
search bar with no parameters offered. If I type *.eml (we archive our
e-mail outside of the Vista "Mail" system) into the search bar I get around
2000 files listed. But I can't delete any of them or move them from the
list that I got from the search bar. If I bypass the search process and go
directly to the folder and look at the contents I can, of course, delete,
copy, move and paste from there. But, doesn't Vista have something similiar
to the XP search window?

You can search in Vista's search window, Windows Logo key + F or search in
Explorer, Windows Logo key + E. Both bring up a menu when you right click on
a file. You can cut, copy, delete or drag a file to where you want it.

hi ted, i think i understand a bit better now.In vista and i will use docs
folder as an example i would open docs and search from within that folder
this is supposed to one of the great innovations of vista and if i'm honest
as long as the indexing options are set ok then it works fine and is a lot
quicker than the search in xp once all files matching the search criteria are
found then just right click and do what you want with the folder eg move
,copy /paste ect
ps hears a link to add copy /move to folder to your right click options if
required http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=825

It was using AIOE, but that is finished, so it is using a Hotmail account,

It has been spoofing me for months. I’ve even considered it might be NASS.
