Delete on "group heading"

Hi
Was wondering if anyone knows of a setting that could stop someone deleting
"by group" e.g in the main mail view, the items are all sorted by "Today",
"Yesterday", "Two days ago", "Last Week" etc. When doing a right click on
either of these, and selecting "Delete" nothing happens - no pop-up messages,
no error or anything, however, when doing the right click and selecting "Mark
as Read" or "unread" it works.

Any pointers on this? Thanks

I grab the heading and drag to the Deleted Items folder (I use a Tablet and
dragging is faster than clicking).
