Delete messages from server - Exchange account

Mario Alvares

Hello,

I access a MS Exchange mail account at work using MS Outlook 2003.
What I want to do is delete messages on the server once they are
downloaded. The default settings seems to be to not delete messages.

How do I enable the option to delete messages once they are downloaded ?
Where is this option located ?

Thanks,
Mario

The purpose of using Exchange is to NOT download messages so that records
can be kept by your employer should they ever be required. Sarbanes-Oxley
comes to mind.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Mario Alvares asked:

Does that mean there is no way to do it ?

Also, I don't exactly understand what you mean when you say that
"records can be kept by your employer". Moving messages from the 'Inbox'
to 'Large Personal Folders' in Outlook 2003 deletes them from the
server. Do you mean that after I delete the messages (by moving them
from the 'Inbox' to 'Large Personal Folders'), my employer still has a
record of the deleted mails ?

Sorry for the stupid questions, and thanks for your time,
Mario
