Hi Bob,
You can search for them by this name *index.dat* and you can delete them
then the on reboot the system will recreate them for you.
Some of them here:
C:\Documents and settings\Administrator\Cookies = index
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Cookies = index
C:\Documents and settings\User\User data = index
C:\Windows\Temp\Cookies =index
C:\Windows\Temp\History = index
C:\Windows\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
HTH.
Regards,
nass
Nass I believe that I have boot to the command prompt and do it under the
covers of windows
and the reboot will create them automatically
I had done it under 98 , but never tried it in XP
Bob
delete c:\windows\Temp\Cookies\index
delete c:\windows\Temp\History\index
delete c:\windows\temp\temporaryinternet files\Content.IE5\index
delete c:\documents and settings\administrator\index
delete c:\documents and settings\user\cookies\index
and so on using the recovery console or the command prompt you will be able
to delete the index file.
HTH.
Regards,
nass
