Delete files in Word for Mac 11.1

How do you delete a Word document? Right-clicking doesn't work, the delete
key doesn't work, dragging to Trash doesn't work.
 
Thanks, but that doesn't work. If I Open, then from Project Gallery/Recent
try to drag a document to Trash, it won't go. Is there some other place I
should be dragging from?
 
Yes, you need to drag from a Finder window, *not* from any Open/Save
dialogs. Open/Save/etc dialogs just let you navigate and access files, but
not delete, move files, etc. Are you new to the Mac?
