Hi

I have a folder called "my old data structure" that was created when i did a
restore with my ADVENT restore disk. This takes the old data and puts it in
a single folder then creats a new OS structure.

My question is - there are 2 folders in there called sp2 and if i try to
delete them i get an access denied error. I have tried to delete them in
safe mode and I have tried to use the recovery console but as I don't have a
copy of XP only the recovery CD I can not run it. I have searched the net
for NTFS boot disks but they all seem to be read only.

What I need is a free NTFS boot disk so i can delete the folder in dos.

Can anyone please please help?

Thanks

John

You need to set the permissions for these
folders so that you authorised to manipulate
them.

Log on as admin, launch Explorer, right-click
the folders, select "Properties", then "Security".
Now set the appropriate permissions. You may
also have to seize ownership of the folders.

If you click "Start", then "Help", you will find lots
of help on NTFS permissions. Deleting your folders
with the help of an NTFS boot disk would be quite
an inappropriate solution.
