Delete a Hyperlink object after link?

I am creating a Jeopardy gameboard, using Powerpoint, in which I hyperlink a
dollar value to a question slide and then return to the main gameboard with a
hyperlink from the question slide. What I would like to do is have the
dollar amount delete or change color after I've linked to the question page
so that when I return to the gameboard, that dollar amount no longer appears?
Is this possible?

It can be easily done with VBA (code). Matter of fact I have a sample file

Which version of PowerPoint are you using. With 2002 or 2003, you can use
animation triggers to make the shape with the dollar amount exit.
