hi there,
We are using exchange 5.5 with outlook 2003 clients. when users want to add
a delegate to their calendar, they are only shown users in the Recipients
list. If the user they want to delegate to is not there, how can they do
this? alternatively, when delegating, how can you change it so you can pick
users from the global address list?
thanks

Meaning...? In the Exchange GAL? If so, yes, of course.

They can't.

They should be able to do so already - in fact, they can't use a delegate
who *isn't* in there. What happens if they switch address books from the
"Show Names From" menu?

When adding a delegate, the 'Show names from the' drop-down box only has the
'Recipients' list available and the 'Recipients' list does not have all the
names that are in the Exchange GAL.

I have defaulted the Outlook address book to show names from Exchange GAL
first and this makes no difference.

I don't have a "Recipients" list - just "Global Address List" in mine. Are
you in tools | options | delegates | add ?
Don't know how E5.5 might make a difference here (I don't use it, and you
should definitely upgrade asap as 5.x is old and unsupported)....you might
want to post in microsoft.public.exchange.clients or ...exchange.admin for
more help.

i wonder if it's to do with E5.5 as this problem has only occured since
upgrading to outlook 2003. we are planning to upgrade in the near future. I
will have a look at the other forums.

thanks for your help!
