Delegate: Deleting Other's Meetings

I've been given Editor proxy for a Manager's Calendar, and I get copies of
their meeting requests (and can accept/decline on their behalf, though I
don't presume to do so - I let them manage their own calendar). To avoid
cluttering my Inbox, I just delete the copies - what happens when I do this?
I presume they get the original invitation and if they accept/decline, then
deleting my copy shouldn't affect their calendar - or does it? I've been made
aware that they're missing meetings that should be on their calendar,
presumably because I've been deleting my copies. What's the workaround for
this so their calendar is accurate and my Inbox isn't swamped with copies?

I haven't experienced the situation you're talking about but it's something
I'll watch out for. I thought you might have an answer to my question,
though! What "permission" should my boss give me so that I can set
appointments for him AND change them when necessary? I want the requests for
new times, etc. to go to him but one of the permissions I had made the
requests go to me. Any advice?
