DELEATING DUPLICATED ITEMS

I have many documents and pic's etc that are duplicated on my pc. Is there a
way I can delete all but one copy without having to manually open every thing?
 
There is software available that will find duplicate files based on criteria
you specify. XP can't find duplicates unless you search for each file name
one at a time.
