Delayed text onscreen when typing in WORD

I have a user that is experiencing an issue I haven't seen before. The
problem is with MS Word (Office 2003 Pro version) and it opens oddly in that
the new doc appears first, then the heading and toolbars and it takes some
time for the heading/toolbars to appear. The second issue it that when she's
typing in Word, the text either is extremely slow to appear onscreen or it
won't appear until she left clicks on her mouse.

I've been looking online for similar issues, but haven't found a solution.
Recent additions to the workstation are Adobe Creative Suite 2 and an HP 3210
All-in-One Photosmart printer/fax/copier.

Anyone have any ideas

This could be a simple video driver issue. Does it help to reduce hardware
acceleration on the video card?
