Delay Visible Updates??

I have an Excel 2000 spreadsheet which updates itself from the textual
contents of a large number of files at startup. The updating consists
of altering a large number of strings and also a large number of cell
colours. Because of this there is a lot of flickering going on and I
was wondering if there was a way of putting visible updates on hold
temporarily (while the process continues in the background) and then
doing the whole lot in one fell swoop once the content update is
complete.

Good Morning Alan,

try

Application.ScreenUpdating=False

as first line of your macro and

Application.ScreenUpdating=True

as last line.
