Delay on incoming email?

Dear All,

This problem is driving me nuts! Here's the scenario...

Microsoft Exchange server 5.5 running on W2K server
Windows XP SP2 on clients
Office XP (2002) SP3

Problem:

If a message is sent to a number of users it arrives simultaneously on all
but one machine. It arrives on the problem machine between 30 and 60
seconds later.
I've pulled this machine out now for testing. It doesn't make any
difference which user logs in (administrator or a user) and can send emails
without any trouble - they leave and arrive at their destination at normal
speed.
It feels like some kind of network configuration problem but the machine
isn't exhibiting any other symptoms.
I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this - has anyone got any good ideas

Many thanks in advance,

Colin.

Just a slight update on this - I've now installed Outlook 97 on the problem
machine and that works perfectly - emails arrive instantly. Go back to
Outlook 2002 and the problem is back!!!

Becky,

if there are not other network issues and the system is completly up-to-date
then I would check to see if any of these are the possible cause. Rules
setup that are having a problem; any add-in program that have been installed
and if the there are any problems with the anti-virus program - may be
checking each email as it arrives depend on how it is configured. Also if
using wireless or satellite for network connectiviyt this can cause delays
-so the type of connection is factor as well.

Hope it helps.

Hi Francine,

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply but note that I have now
installed Outlook 97 and that works fine.
This would tend to suggest that the problem lies with Outlook 2002.
I have now de-installed and re-installed Outlook 2002 but to no improvement.
I'm totally baffled by this now.
