Delay in launching internet explorer from desktop

After double clicking internet explorer icon on
desktop.It takes around 15-18 by internet explorer to get
launched.Windows is working fine.Virus patches are
updated.If ie is launched from quick launch icon it gets
opened quickly.

The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).
