For the former, I would say "yes". As far as System Restore files, you
can delete all but the most recent one. But I wold finish your "tidying
up" first, be certain all is well on your machine, then MAKE a new
system restore backup, and THEN delete the older ones.

BTW, unless you have a very small hard drive, 1% reserved space for
SysRestore files - 2% at the most - is plenty. The default 12% WIndows
uses is ridiculous.

Disk Defragmenter does not remove past updates of internet or system
retore files! You seem to be confusing Disk Defragmenter and Disk
Cleanup!

You should use Disk CleanUp regularly to Empty your Recycle Bin and
Remove Temporary Internet Files. This is also advisable after Outlook
Express folders have been compacted. Whenever you remove large numbers
of redundant files you should always run Disk Defragmenter by selecting
Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter.

Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp, More
Options, System Restore will remove all but the latest System Restore
point? Restore points can be quite large. I do this as a matter of
routine. The only caution would be if you have a problem and restoring
to an earlier point might solve it.

Hope this helps.
