I'm having trouble defragmenting my computer. Every time I start the
process, it freezes up with the default PIF. I've tried it in regular and
starting up the computer in safe mode. If varies with the % completed from
7%-31%. I am not having trouble opening the deframent program with out going
into the program file.

Do you have enough free space? For windows disk defragmenter about 15%
free space is needed. Also when you boot into safe mode, run CHDSK,
defrag may not run if there are bad sectors on the HD.

When I open the defragmenting program it shows anywhere from 67-70% free
space. I am having problems with viruses, trojans, and adware. I've run
McAfee, RAV, Stinger, Ad-aware, Xoft, and aol spware removal. I still get
messages that my virus scan is at risk and that spyware is attacking my
computer. Should I just take the computer to a professional for cleaning?

Hi
If you know your computer is infected by virus, spyware and stuff like
that and your anti-virus is not able to fix it. I would suggest you to
take backup of all your data. I meant write it on to cd's and go for a
clean installation of Windows.

Use firewall and anti-virus if the computer has internet connection.
