Tim

Whenever I try to defrag my hard drives , using either
w2000 defrag or Diskeeper the system virtually hangs with
extensive I/O. It's like a block gets moved & then
something wants to re-index it. I have to then reboot. I'm
running w2000 sp3 with ZoneAlarm & Trend anti-virus.
Indexing is disabled.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

I have the same thing happen each time I attempt to
Defrag. Have gotten no relief to date. My workaround on
this is to go ahead and defrag and let it go as far as it
can befoore freezing up; then I Analize again. Usually
the defrag and gotten far enough along that a Defrag is
not necessary. If you find a true answer, I would
appreciate hearing from you (e-mail address removed).

Hi Tim -

I'd suggest checking with the Diskeeper Tech Support folks to see if
they have run into a similar case. Even though it appears to not be
directly related to Diskeeper, they may have some ideas that could
help. (Offhand, I don't know what might be causing the behavior you're
seeing, but they could perhaps get additional details from you to get
the problem solved.)

Diskeeper Tech Support can be reached at (e-mail address removed).

I hope this helps -
