Using Defragmentations on the Tools tab of the
Propoerties for a given drive under Windows XP Home
Edition, I run the Defrag. After completing the defrag
process, I run the defrag analysis and am told to defrag
again. I do it again, and still am told to do it again.
What is the problem? WHy does not the Windows defrag
utility defrag succesfully? I had a similar problem on
my Windows 2000 PC and gave up and used Norton untilities
Speed Disk, which worked correctly. Do I need to
purchase Norton Utilities for the Windows XP PC?

defragmentation needs 15% free space to run and it is
good idea to get in habit of 'routine of running'
chkdsk.exe/checkdisk/first
then defrag
then delete temp files and cookies
and should keep your disk clean and org'd
and take it fr there

hth God Bless hutch
