Windows XP does not allow the scheduling of disk
defragmentation. I am not a programmer. Is there some
simple way around this limitation, so that I can schedule
disk defragment? Thanks!

There are two defrags, one is a pretty one that waits for a click to do anything (defrag.msc). This is the one Task Schedule finds because it's the one listed on the start menu. Then there is an ugly one called defrag.exe designed for scheduling or scripting.

defrag c: /f

You must specify parameters and you must browse to find it (it's in system32)
