Per a heads up from this newsgroup I downloaded and used a dos defrag
program with a gui interface. It gave four options as to how to defrag
...Somehow I have managed to lose it...even though I have no memory of
uninstalling it....or any other destructive commands
Could somebody lead me in the right direction please...as in a url

I reckon its probably DGDEFRAGMENTER

A high performance defragmenter which is built on top of DOS based
defrag engine "DirMS.exe". Extra features include 6 difference defrag
options , scan and remove for empty folders, orphaned shortcuts,
benchmark HDD and more.
It used to be shareware, enjoy

get it from here
