Defrag RAID drives

Does the general drag utility work on RAID drive setups?
Does the mirror require to be broken before undergoing a
defrag on the disks? We find that the defrag process on
a 80Gb drive seems to lockup itself and doesn't complete?

All defragmenters use the same mechanism to defragment files.
They all call Windows XP's defrag APIs and it is the file system itself
that actually performs all of the file "moves". Any defragmenter
can safely defragment RAID arrays.

third-party program with advanced features.
