Defrag Hang PC

Using Defrag after installing SP1 causes the PC lock. It
takes some time, but the screen eventually goes blank
with no keyboard or mouse control. Removing SP1 cures
the problem. This is the the 2nd PC I've seen this on.
one with Home edition and the other with Professional,
both with AMD processors. Anybody have any ideas?????

Have you installed/removed WinXP-SP1 or IE6-SP1? Was your anti-virus
application disabled and were all other running processes closed prior to
downloading/installing [whatever]-SP1?
