Does anyone know if there is a command line that will START defrag. So far
I have been able to usethis:

%SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc c:\

to get Defrag to automatically go to the C:\ drive, but I still need user
intervention to start it. (I WILL be executing this command as
administrator, so that is not an issue).

Thanks

Not without a utility like Autodefrag. It's free and contains no Spyware
or Adware. Only works on Win2K.

Autodefrag will work on partitioned hard drives, without user
intervention, and can be set to run automatically.

Good luck.

Nope. You either have to script it with something like AutoIt or buy a
3rd party defragger that supports scheduling.

They have changed this behavior in XP that allows you to script the defrag
.... you can read more here:
