We just recently did a network software install through active directory of
defender. The install went well however when a user(no matter if they are a
user or an administrator) logs into the computer after the initial install
they will get the following error "application failed to initialize:
0x80070005. Access is denied". Defender is loaded and gets its updates from
our WSUS. Before we did the install we setup our server for a network install
with msiexec /a WindowsDefender.msi. I would like to get this error resolved
before we do our remaining computers.

pkoch, try this and please let me know if work
Uncheck "System Configuration" in the Windows Defender Real-Time protection
options under "Tools - General Settings"."
