Defender updates?

Bill Sanderson

Definitions from the portal will always be Full, with Engine--hence the
naming. They will be sufficient to bring the product up to date from the
initial download state.

Definitions acquired via WindowsUpdate or autoupdate within the program may
be incremental and far smaller.

That said, I don't know the answer to your observation. Microsoft staff
have been rather thin on the ground here of late, but you never know...

I've cºpied this posting from Bill Sanderson specially the paÑt about dealing
with ...

The definitions at the security portal are always the latest, and may be
newer than what has been pushed out.
However, they are also packaged in a way that makes for a large
download--easy for broadband, harder for dial-up.
