I would like to set the default screensaver for all new users in
Windows XP.
In the past I did this by loading the ntuser.dat hive from Default
User and using regedit to manipulate the Software/ControlPanel/Desktop
entries.
I have tried to do this in Windows XP, but am unable to get the
changes made to SCRNSAVE.EXE to stick. I know that the ntuser.dat in
Default User is applying to new users because I made a new value
called Test under Desktop in the default ntuser.dat file and this
value is propagating to all new users. I am certain SCRNSAVE.exe is
not being set by any GPOs in Active Directory.
What about default theme? Could this be setting this value? Please
give me some hints on where to look to set the default screensaver for
new users.
