We have a file here at work that consists of a table. We insert pictures
into the cells of the table. I have the rows at a specific, exact height of
1.5 inches. When we try to insert the pictures, they come in larger than the
cell, and it must be resized each time. Is there a way that we can get the
pictures to come into the cell at a default size?

THanks for your help,
Michele

You can go to Table > Properties > Table tab, click on Opions and uncheck
the box "Automatically resize". Inserted pictures will then be resized to
the cell rather than the other way round.

Let's make some assumptions first. You want the height of each table cell to
be 1.5". Since most pictures are 4x6 landscape, we'll set the width to 2.25
(1.5x6/4). We want each picture centered in each cell of the table.

OK, let's set up the table.
1. Highlight the table. Click Table - Table Properties - Row tab. Check
Specify Height and enter 1.5" and choose row height is Exactly.
2. Click the Column tab and set the width to 2.25".
3. Click the Cell tab, Center, and OK.
4. Click Table - AutoFit - Fixed column width.
5. Place your cursor in the first cell, hold down Shift-Cntl and press End.
Now click the Center icon on the toolbar. Place your cursor in any center to
confirm that it's flashing in the center of the cell.
6. Save your file.

Now, copy a picture to any cell. It should fit it in the cell and reduce
its size if necessary to fit the cell.
