Default Shares

On my XP Pro workstation, if I perform a net share from a dos prompt, the
following are shared by default:

print$
c$
admin$
IPC$

Is it a risk to have these shared and can it be turned off. I tried right
clicking on the c drive to unshare it, but it already shows as not shared.
