Excel and Word can set a default folder to save or open files. I can't seem
to find a place in Access 2002 SP3 to do that. Is there such a setting?

Hi, George.
Is there such a setting?

Yes. Select the Tools menu -> Options... to open the Options dialog window.
Select the "General" tab. Type the full path of your default folder in the
"Default database folder:" text box. Select the "OK" button to save your
change.

The next time you need to import a file or save a file, this directory will
be used for the "Open File" dialog window.

I don't have Access 2002 to check, but look on the General tab under Tools |
Options.
