Default Printer

I'm having a problem on the network I help maintain. Some of the users have
had their default printer automatically reassigned to something(network
printer) other than their normal HP printer in Windows XP. When you put the
default printer back everything seems ok but if you log out and back in again
they reappear? The printer drivers have all been installed locally.
The OS is WinXP pro and WinServer2003.
Suggestions please!!!

Thanks in advance
George

If you are able to eliminate the user as the cause, this is likely caused by
a third party component loaded by the print spooler. Which components do the
affected users have that others don't?

Windows Print Migrator might help you gather that information:

Bruce Sanderson's printing pages may help you eliminate the unwanted
component:

Another thought is that there may be a group policy that dictates this. I am
not sure.
