I don't believe the defaults can be changed.

I'll bite. In Outlook 2002, how do I set the default to 60 mins?

| 50 minutes is not an option. 30 or 60 is.

RIght-click on an empty area of the calendar and choose Other Settings.
Change the "Time scale" drop-down to "60 minutes". The next time you click
File>New>Appointment (or Meeting Request), the default duration for the
event should be one hour.
