Go to Start -> Run and enter cmd.exe in the Open box. Click OK.
At the command prompt enter the following command
ipconfig /all
You should see an entry for Default Gateway. If it's something
like 192.168.X.X or 10.0.X.X it means there is a router between
your computer and your modem. The number listed is the IP
Address of your router. If the number listed for Default
Gateway is something like 68.119.X.X then your computer is
connecting directly to your ISP assigned default gateway. A
default gateway is usually the first router placed between your
computer and a network, such as the Internet.
